Five paramilitary personnel were injured when unidentified militants lobbed a grenade at a Central Reserve Police Force camp in Sopore on Sunday.
The police said that militants hurled a grenade on the CRPF men stationed in Hotel Plaza near Sopore Bus Stand. The grenade exploded inside the camp resulting in five security personnel suffering injuries.
The police have identified the injured as Mohammad Razaq Khan,Anil Kumar,Sia Ram,Javid Khan and Rajah Kumar. Razaq and Anil are critically wounded.
They have been shifted to SKIMS,Srinagar. The other three men have been admitted to Sub District Hospital,Sopore. The grenade was tossed at the bunker around 10 am. We are trying to identify the militants responsible for the attack. So far no arrests have been made, said SP of Sopore Imtiyaz Hussain.
This is the second grenade attack in the town during the past month.
On May 19,10 people,including three policemen,were injured when militants lobbed a grenade at the Sopore police station.
