Gold futures prices rose by Rs 36 to Rs 28,339 per 10 grams today,as speculators created fresh positions on the back of a firming global trend.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange,gold for delivery in June rose by Rs 36,or 0.13 per cent,to Rs 28,339 per 10 grams in business turnover of 392 lots.
Similarly,the metal for delivery in April contract moved up by Rs 33,or 0.12 per cent,to Rs 27,850 per 10 grams in 3,036 lots.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with a firming global trend mainly led to rise in gold prices at futures trade.
Meanwhile,gold gained 0.4 per cent to USD 1,657.05 an ounce in Singapore.
