Gold Cobra

Limp Bizkit

Flip/Interscope/Polydor Records

$15,rating: ***

After six long years,Limp Bizkit is back, with a fresh hard rock/rap metal sound. Their new album,Gold Cobra,is a refreshing change from their previous one,The Unquestionable Truth: Part I. It takes the listener back to their Chocolate Starfish and the Hotdog Flavored Water days. Songs Gold Cobra,Shark Attack,Douche Bag and Shotgun are filled with rage. In the opening track,Bring it Back,Fred Durst’s voice has an added aggression. The return of Wes Borland as the guitarist has ended speculation on whether the band would reunite. Shark Attack and Gold Cobra are marked with heavy riffs, with Durst alternating growling vocals with clear lines, while Walking Away is reminiscent of Hold On. Gold Cobra is a definite buy if old memories linger on and a taste for the new beckons.
