Former chief of J&K entrance exam board surrenders

Peer is one of the main accused in the Common Entrance Test (CET) scam.

Two days after his residences in Srinagar and Jammu were raided by the Crime Branch,the former chairman of J&K’s Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (BOPEE) Prof Mushtaq Peer surrendered before the police.

Peer is one of the main accused in the Common Entrance Test (CET) scam in which a group of candidates allegedly paid millions of rupees to secure seats in state’s medical colleges. “He (Peer) surrendered on Wednesday morning before the Crime Branch,” said a senior official of Crime Branch. “Since raids on his residences,he was evading us. We immediately started his questioning”.
