Direct to home (DTH) service provider Dish TV today said its net loss has widened to Rs 49.02 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31,2012.
The company had posted a net loss of Rs 37.05 crore in the same period of previous fiscal.
The net sales of the company,however,rose to Rs 524.55 crore in the quarter compared to Rs 432.86 crore in the same period of previous fiscal,Dish TV said in a filing to the BSE.
For the year ended March 31,2012,the company’s net loss stood at Rs 158.85 crore. It was Rs 189.70 crore in 2010-11.
The net sales of the company for the year ended March 31,2012 stood at Rs 1,957.58 crore compared to Rs 1,436.31 crore in 2010-11.
Commenting on the results,Dish TV Managing Director Jawahar Goel said: “While managing a trade-off between quality and quantity of new subscribers in the fiscal gone by,the DTH category witnessed a slowdown after a price hike at the entry level.”
Shares of Dish TV today closed at Rs 55.10 on the BSE,down 0.72 per cent from its previous close.
