Desi B-boys on World Stage

After having won titles on television shows such as India’s Got Talent,Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Boogie Woogie,popular hip-hop group Suresh ‘N’ Vernon from Mumbai is ready to showcase its moves on a prestigious international platform.

After having won titles on television shows such as India’s Got Talent,Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega and Boogie Woogie,popular hip-hop group Suresh ‘N’ Vernon from Mumbai is ready to showcase its moves on a prestigious international platform. These Nalasopara boys are India’s first entry to the World Hip Hop Dance Championship,to be held in Las Vegas.

The group has already landed in Las Vegas to participate in the six-day annual competition — organised by the Hip Hop International — which starts today. After having won the Indian Hip Hop Championship in Chennai earlier this month,they will now be representing India at the world stage,while competiting against best groups from over 50 countries.

In was four years ago that Mumbai-based choreographers Surensh Mukund and Vernon Montero came together and founded the group. Eight dancers have been handpicked and trained by the duo for the prestigious international event.

One of the members of the Mumbai-based Fictitious Dance Academy,which is also run by the two,said,“The group has been rehearsing for nearly 16-17 hours every day,for the last two months,” adding that the boys will dance to Indian tracks at the competition,in order to give a desi touch to their performance.

Now,it’s worth watching if this bunch of Desi b-boys leaves the international audience thrilled,just as they impressed the Indian audiences with their headstands and gravity-defying poses.
