A day after his surprise engagement,Team India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni,28,got married to childhood friend Sakshi Singh Rawat,23,at a resort in Kandoli, about 25 kilometres from Dehradun,on Sunday. The wedding, like his engagement, was kept under wraps and was a strictly private affair.
Among those who attended the wedding were Dhonis team members Suresh Raina,Piyush Chawla,Rohit Sharma and R P Singh. Actor John Abraham,Dhonis close friend who also shares his passion for bikes, was also among the invitees. BCCI president Shashank Manohar and secretary N Srinivasan were reported to be present at the wedding.
Yuvraj Singh, who was missing, tweeted: Just heard Dhoni is getting married!
The wedding, which was held at the Vishranti Resort here, was solemnised according to Kumaon rituals. It is reliably learnt that Dhoni and Sakshi,a hotel management graduate, had visited the resort a few months ago to finalise the venue. Dhoni and Sakshi studied at the same school DAV,Shyamali in Ranchi.

The wedding rituals began at about 8 pm when Dhoni,in a black sherwani, arrived on horseback. Very few details emerged as a posse of policemen ensured that the media and fans were kept one kilometre away from the resort. In all,200 security personnel were deployed to ensure that the function remained private.
The newly-married couple is expected to host a reception in Mumbai on July 7,which also happens to be Dhonis 29th birthday. They are expected to leave for Ranchi on Tuesday.
The Indian captain is currently enjoying a rare break from international cricket and will be next seen in action during a three-Test series against Sri Lanka scheduled to begin from July 18 at Galle.
