Of the over 150 clips from CCTV cameras installed at various spots, the police have found that the assailants of anti-superstition activist Dr Narendra Dabholkar can be seen in seven clips.
The clips show them before his murder on the morning of August 20.
The police said the two suspects who came on a bike and shot at Dabholkar on Omkareshwar bridge are seen moving at seven different spots which are near the murder spot, said a senior police officer with the crime branch.
He said the CCTV cameras installed in Shaniwar Peth,Jangali Maharaj Road area and Narayan Peth have captured the images of the two assailants with one of them wearing a cap.
Another senior police officer said,These two suspects can be seen moving around in these areas for 45 minutes before the murder and it is clear that they were well aware of the area. There are a lot of possibilities on what exactly they did after the attack. They might have changed their clothes to avoid being spotted in the camera. This footage is very grainy. The police had sent some of these clips to a laboratory in the UK for further analysis.
