R B Sreekumar said Monday the BJP was raking up the ISRO spy case after 19 years because he had submitted substantial evidence against Narendra Modi on his role in the 2002 riots. The BJP has been complaining about the UPA government ignoring the CBI report against IB officials’ role but actually,he said,it was the NDA government that had ignored this report.

“In contrast, are the visible herculean efforts by BJP to shield IB officials like Rajendra Kumar (former JD,SIB,Ahmedabad) and Sudhir Kumar (former additional director,Mumbai) from CBI action, though they were allegedly responsible for conspiring for and executing fake encounter killings,” he said in a statement.

Reacting to allegations by BJP spokesperson Meenakshi Lekhi that he had falsely implicated ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan,Sreekumar said the blame game stems from Modi’s last Kerala visit. “Reasons for the BJP wailing over the plight of NN,after 19 years without any additional evidence, are obvious. During the last visit of Narendra Modi in Kerala (perhaps in April 2013),NN had a meeting with him (NN had admitted this to media). Reportedly, conspiracy to stamp on RBS the whole blame for NN’s arrest was taken in this meeting…”

Sreekumar said he did not interrogate Narayanan and that he had only interrogated D Sasikumaran and Mariyam Rasheeda.
