Cong turns WikiLeaks heat on BJP: Accept that Hindutva is to gain votes

Claiming that the latest WikiLeaks revelations have exposed the real face of the BJP,the Congress has turned the heat on the main opposition party.

Claiming that the latest WikiLeaks revelations have exposed the real face of the BJP,the Congress has turned the heat on the main opposition party, asking it to openly accept the fact that it had been using Hindutva for making political and electoral gains.

The Congress said it was surprised to see senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley denying using the words opportunistic in reference to the Hindu nationalism plank of his party since it was he and the BJP which had believed as gospel truth the contents of the US cables when it suited them to attack the government.

Now Mr Jaitley and the BJP are busy denying having made such a statement because the contents of the cables have exposed their real face. The same BJP had paralysed Parliament for several days holding the WikiLeaks as gospel truth, said Congress spokesperson Shakeel Ahmed, adding that the BJP could not be selective about the veracity of the cables.

Ahmed said it is known to the entire country that the BJP uses religion as a political tool and this fact has been reaffirmed by Jaitley in his conversation with the US diplomat. Every politically conscious person in India knew the real face of the BJP. The people of India will not believe the denial issued by Jaitley.

He said now that the real face of the BJP has been exposed,it is time the party openly accepted the fact that it had nothing to do with religion expect to fool people to garner votes and political support.

Echoing Ahmed,Union Minister Kapil Sibal demanded an apology from Jaitley for his reported comment. He also asked BJP veteran L K Advani and the RSS to tell the nation what they now think about Jaitley.
