Stung by the criticism from ally Trinamool Congress over the Lokpal Bill, the Congress central leadership is believed to have given its go-ahead to its West Bengal unit to turn on the heat on Mamata Banerjee’s party in the state.

The first indication came on Saturday when Shakeel Ahmed, party in charge of West Bengal,air-dashed to Kolkata to hold an emergency meeting and decide on the course of agitation over Mamata’s move to rename Indira Bhavan in Salt Lake as Nazrul Bhavan. Besides,Ahmed also gave the go-ahead to launch a stir against distress sale of paddy.

Ahmed told The Sunday Express,“The Trinamool stance in Rajya Sabha on Lokayukta was very unfortunate…. But then such things do happen in a coalition.”
