The opposition Congress in the Orissa Assembly on Tuesday turned the heat on Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inside the House as well as on the streets,demanding his resignation over the adverse HC judgment on Vedanta University.
Soon after the Question Hour started in the House,Congress members rushed to the Speakers podium,shouting slogans against Patnaik. Kuchinda legislator Rajendra Kumar ChhatriaChhatria then climbed onto the podium and lay over the table. As the pandemonium continued,Speaker Pradip Amat was forced to suspend the Question Hour.
Meanwhile,more then 50,000 people blocked the streets of Bhubaneswar shouting slogans and displaying placards reading Naveens profile thief and liar. They set on fire effigies of the Chief Minister.
