INDIRECTLY ruling out the possibility of formation of a third front after the Lok Sabha elections in 2014,L K Advani on Wednesday said there would be a bipolar contest in Lok Sabha elections and the next government at the Centre would be led by either the Bhartiya Janata Party or the Congress.
Talking to reporters, after delivering his inaugural address at the state executive committee meeting of the BJP in Chitrakoot,Advani also said Lok Sabha elections were possible in 2013.
The Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government could get the general elections held this year because Assembly elections are also scheduled in some Congress-ruled states.
Advani said the Lok Sabha elections held in 1977 after the emergency were most crucial elections in the history of country after independence and all opposition parties had united to remove the Congress from power. Advani said that there was need to contest next Lok Sabha election the same way to remove the Congress-led UPA from power.
Advani said Uttar Pradesh was an important state for the BJP and that the party will have to win maximum seats in Uttar Pradesh in the Lok Sabha elections to get power at the Centre.
