A curfew was imposed in Nawada after one person was killed and five were injured in a communal clash in Nawada town on Monday. During the clash,two groups – one of Hindus and one of Muslims – pelted stones and opened fire on each other in the Bundelkhand police station area of the town at around 11 am.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar asked the district administration to take stern action against those involved and appealed to the public to maintain peace and communal harmony.
