A VILLAGER who was trapped between two rocks in a village in Kanker district of Chhattisgarh was rescued Saturday afternoon after more than 70 hours.
Ramprasad was crossing Ranvahi hills Wednesday afternoon when he slipped and got trapped in a peculiar manner at a height of around 80 feet.
While his face was out and he was able to talk to people,the rest of his body was trapped between two heavy rocks.
A police team,including Superintendent of Police R N Dash,and rescue teams from capital Raipur reached the spot,but they could not rescue him.
If we tried to break the rocks,some pieces could have crushed or at least severely injured him, said a district officer.
Rescue teams kept him on liquid diet for three days as locals surrounded him and kept encouraging him.
A disaster management team reached Saturday and finally safely rescued him.
