Kamal Chauhan,who alleged planted the bomb on Samjhauta Express,Friday claimed he did not know Aseemanand,his co-accused.
Chauhan,who was remanded to NIA custody till March 2 after being produced in a court here,told reporters that he knows nothing about Aseemanand. I dont know Aseemanand, he said,while being taken by NIA officials.
On February 14,Chauhan had admitted that he had planted bombs on Samjhauta Express in 2007 that left 68 people,mostly Pakistanis,dead. Aseemanand too had told the media that he did not know Chauhan.
Earlier,NIA prosecutors R K Handa and Rajan Malhotra sought 15 days remand of Chauhan before the judge during the in-camera proceedings. Handa pleaded that the accused had to be taken to Madhya Pradesh and other areas for identification of places where he took training on use of explosive materials.
The NIA also wants to take Chauhan to Madhya Pradesh for the identification of the shop from where explosive materials were bought.
Sources said NIA has found contacts of three persons,including of Sunil Joshi,the suspected mastermind behind the blasts who was later murdered,from Chauhans house.
