Centre,UP get notices on acid attack victim plea

The girl has requested the court to direct the authorities to give her the treatment equal to the gangrape victim.

The Supreme Court Monday issued notices to the Centre and the Uttar Pradesh government on a petition by an acid attack victim,who sought her treatment and compensation from the Nirbhaya Fund. The fund was created in the memory of the December 16 victim of the fatal gangrape in Delhi.

The girl has requested the court to direct the authorities to give her the treatment equal to the gangrape victim. She also claimed that no compensation had been paid to her despite the court’s order. A law graduate from Agra,she was allegedly attacked by friends of his brother-in-law for opposing his marriage to her sister.

Her face was burnt and she lost vision in one eye.
