Central Bank of India,Chandigarh zone did a total business of Rs. 21,206 crore,with a year on year growth of 21.25%. The total advances stood at Rs. 9239 crore,with a growth of 18.52%.
K.K.Taneja,Field General Manager,Central Bank of India,Chandigarh zone told media persons here today that the total deposits showed a year on year growth of 23.45%,reaching a total of Rs. 11967 crore. The net NPA of the zone decreased from 1.5% to 1.25%. Agriculture advances increased by 35% to Rs. 1543 crore.
During the year Chandigarh Zone added 174 ATMs and plans to add 200 more ATMs by March 2014 to reach up to 500 ATMs. Out of these five will be “disabled persons friendly ATMs”. The Bank has also introduced ‘Cent Arthiya’ scheme,at lowest rates of interest to ensure easy credit to the Arthiyas. Taneja claimed that the Bank has successfully implemented the Online remittance on behalf of PUNGRAIN in the account of Arthiyas and Punjab government has lauded the Bank’s contribution in its implementation. He also told that the Bank is providing housing loan at base rate of 10% upto Rs.75 lakhs.
Taneja also announced launch of new savings account variant “Cent Salary Savings Scheme (C-SSS)”for the salaried class taking into consideration their various banking and financial needs hence providing an edge over the standardized “salary product” in banking.
