The CBI has collected more files on transfers,postings,tenders and contracts of the past three years in connection with its probe into the railways bribery scandal.
A CBI team visited Rail Bhavan Monday to collect the files on promotions and contracts that have figured in calls intercepted during the last two months, a senior CBI official said. The calls are among former railways minister Pawan Kumar Bansals nephew Vijay Singla,railway official Mahesh Kumar,both of whom have been arrested,and Bansals secretary Rahul Bhandari.
CBI chief Ranjit Sinha,meanwhile,denied the CBI questioned two senior railways officials Monday. We have not questioned any railways official yet. We are still scrutinising these files, he said. There is also no decision yet on the questioning of former railways minister, said Sinha.
The agency,however,has sent questionnaires to railway board officials,including its chairman.
