BSY backs down,gives up bday show-of-strength plan

With the BJP stonewalling his bid to regain the CMs post,Karnataka strongman B S Yeddyurappa ditched plans to turn his 70th birthday celebrations on Monday into a show of strength and instead settled for a low-key affair.

Yeddyurappa,however,reiterated he would not attend the March 3 BJP Core committee meeting in Delhi called to decide the leadership row in Karnataka.

I will not go to Delhi asking for chief ministers chair… I dont want it, he told the guests at his birthday party. Since the Central leadership promised to reinstate me after six months,I visited Delhi earlier,seeking to restore my lost chair.
