Raja and Kaari are twin brothers who live together and strangely enough they like to live only in places with names starting with ‘Ko’. That gives them the name ‘Ko-brothers’. Their ambition now is to find girls who are sisters whom they could marry and thus become ‘Co-brothers’. This is the story that Lal seeks to narrate in Kobra, which was earlier titled Kottayam Brothers.

They reach Coimbatore (the name of the place,in terms of syllable, begins with Ko) where they meet businessman and body-builder John Samuel. John, who hails from Kerala has two daughters; Shirley and Annie. Raja and Kari like the two girls and they are always helping John, who is all the time in trouble. The plot develops from here.

Lal,who earlier directed movies as part of the hit-making Siddique- Lal duo, turned solo director with 2 Harihar Nagar and then made In Ghost House Inn and Tournament Play-Replay. He is also a popular actor, producer and distributor. In his fourth film as solo director,Lal casts Mammootty in the lead and plays an equally important role. Mammootty is in the role of Raja while Lal plays Kaari. Padmapriya plays Shirley while Kaniha is Annie. Also in key roles are Salim Kumar,Manianpillai Raju and Laloo Aalex. Produced by Anto Joseph,Kobra features music by Alex Paul and cinematography by Venu. Lal himself is in charge of the script. A full-length entertainer, the film targets all audiences.
