India to launch Pravasi Suraksha Yojana in UAE
Dubai: India will launch its ambitious pension scheme,the Mahatma Gandhi Pravasi Suraksha Yojana,for over five million overseas workers in Dubai next week. Vayalar Ravi,minister of Overseas Indian Affairs,will formally launch the scheme.
P-Notes investment at 28 bn in Sept
MUMBAI: Investments into Indian shares through participatory notes P-Notes,a preferred route for HNIs and hedge funds from abroad,hit a 10-month high of Rs 1.71 lakh crore about 28 billion in September. According to the latest data released by the Securities and Exchange Board of India Sebi,the total value of P-Note investments in Indian markets equity,debt and derivatives surged to Rs 1,71,154 crore at the end of September.
India-EU trade may touch 200 billion
Hyderabad: The bilateral trade between India and the European Union may touch 200 billion over the next 4-5 years and it is likely to go up to 130 billion in the current year,according to a top EU diplomat. Joao Cravinho,Ambassador,Delegation of the EU to India,also said that some of the issues with regard to the proposed Free Trade Agreement may turn positive before the end of the UPA governments present term.
BPCL-Videocon block in Brazil strikes oil
NEW DELHI: A significant oil discovery has been made in an ultra-deep water block off Brazil where state-owned Bharat Petroleum Corp Ltd BPCL and Videocon Industries together hold 40 per cent interest. Brazilian oil giant Petrobras,which is the operator of the block,has confirmed the Farfan-1 oil discovery in the ultra-deep waters of the Segipe-Alagoas basin,off Brazil,Videocon said in a statement.
