Bridgestone’s ‘Select super stores’ would create a strong retail identity and make its products accessible to a much larger number of consumers,according to a top company official.
“The concept behind the stores is safety,reliability and eco-friendliness. The presence of the stores will create a strong retail identity and in the process make Bridgestone products accessible to a much larger number of consumers,Managing Director of Bridgestone India Hiromi Tanigawa said after inaugurating a store here.
This is the second store in the city and the company has 22 such stores across the country and has reportedly received a good response to it.
Tanigawa said the company’s market share in India is 25 to 30 per cent and they plan to emerge as the market leader. “Our target is to produce 10,000 passenger car tyres by 2010 and 3,000 truck tyres per day by March 2020,But as growth in the sector is fast we are advancing the target by three or four years,” a press release quoted him as having said
He later told reporters that Bridgestone would follow a strong and aggressive marketing strategy. The new factory in Pune would be opened next year,he said.
