A successful acting career doesnt seem to be enough anymore. For tinseltown celebrities,its all about exploring alternate career-options. Screen tracks the actors who are now turning their hand to sideline businesses.
* Arjun Rampal: Party-loving Arjun Rampal decided to base his new business on whats familiar to him. The actor set up a lounge at New Delhi called Lap.
Shah Rukh Khan,Juhi Chawla,Preity Zinta and Shilpa Shetty have found an alternate career in the sport thats driving Indians crazy: cricket. Though Shah Rukhs and Juhis IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders have still a great deal of catching up to do,Preitys Kings XI Punjab IPL team and Shilpas Rajasthan Royals have made a mark for themselves this season.
* Suniel Shetty: Even as B-town salivates over the potential profits from the food business,Suneil Shettys Thai Me Up restaurant had to shut. But Suneil,the optimist,did not give up,and got his water sport business,H20,back in business.
* Dino Morea:If its not fashion,then another area where many celebrities feel they have the Midas touch is in the food business. Of course,some celebrities want nothing less than world domination. Not content with their share at stardom,divas including Shilpa Shetty,Lara Dutta and Bipasha Basu branched out into the fitness industry and told the world their secret fitness tips through DVDS on yoga,fitness and lifestyle.
Shilpa Shetty and husband Raj Kundra,also opened the doors to Royalty,a new club in Mumbai. They took over a club formerly known as Poison for their new den.
