With battle lines drawn between the Congress and the BJP for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, the principal opposition party has decided to hold its strategy meet on January 17,the day when AICC is holding a session on the issue.
While Congresss day-long session is scheduled to be held at Talkatora Stadium, the BJP National Executive will meet the same day at the NDMC Centre followed by a two-day open session of the partys National Council at the Ramlila grounds on December 18 and 19.
Significant political outcomes are expected at the end of both the sessions, where the two national parties will discuss and formalise their election strategy for the next general elections.
Both the parties are also expected to discuss the political situation in the wake of AAPs phenomenal rise.
Top BJP leaders including partys prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, party veteran L K Advani and both leaders of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley and party president Rajnath Singh will address the sessions.
A day prior to National Executive meeting, the BJP will also hold a meeting of its office-bearers on January 16 to discuss the political situation.
