The BJP will invite UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and MPs and MLAs of other political parties in Kanpur region to Narendra Modis Kanpur rally on October 19. Faculties of IIT-Kanpur,medical practitioners and office-bearers of bar associations,are among those who would be invited.
There are six Lok Sabha and 33 assembly constituencies in Kanpur region and BJP has no Lok Sabha member from there while Samajwadi Party and Congress both have three MPs each. BJP has only four MLAs in the region and all are from Kanpur city.
While invitation to MPs and MLAs of other parties would be sent by Kanpur district Congress president Surendra Maithani,party state president Laxmikant Bajpai will send the invitation to the Chief Minister.
Bajpai will be in Kanpur on Wednesday to perform Bhoomi Pujan with 11 priests at Indira Nagar ground to kick off the preparations for the rally.
The party wants that MPs and MLAs of other political parties to hear Modis vision for development of the country. Invitations will be sent to all MPs and MLAs of Kanpur region, said Kanpur Maithani.
Party has got a lakh invitation cards printed.
The party has taken Indira Nagar ground for the rally and expect a crowd of around five lakh. The district administration has directed the party to make arrangements on its own to prevent any accidents because of the high tension line passing over the middle of the ground.
The area under HT line will be a no-man zone. To ensure that everybody would see Modiji properly,there will be hundreds of LCD screens installed. A technical expert will survey the ground on Wednesday for installation of CCTV cameras, Maithani said.
The party will set up a temporary camp office at the ground to look after rally preparations round-the-clock. Party state general secretary Swatantra Dev Singh is camping in Kanpur to supervise preparations and Amit Shah,general secretary in charge of UP,will visit Kanpur on Thursday to review preparations.
The party has written to Kanpur divisional commissioner,asking to repair the roads approaching the rally ground and make arrangements of streetlights and sanitation.
