The Bangalore police have drawn up a team of police officers with past experience in investigating terror cases involving the Indian Mujahideen to interrogate key IM operative Yasin Bhatkal.
While the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast case of April 17,2010 is the only case in Bangalore in which Yasin is shown as a wanted man,the investigators are also set to question him in connection with the July 2008 serial blasts in the city and the April 17,2013 blast outside the BJP office. He is also set to be questioned about an explosives supply system that he allegedly managed from coastal Karnataka in 2008 for blasts carried out across the country.
Three officers of the rank of assistant commissioners of police held meetings with the city police top brass on Tuesday on the course of investigation to be followed. There are multiple agencies involved in the interrogation process now, Police Commissioner Raghavendra Auradkar said.
The Bangalore police will eventually seek Yasins custody under a court warrant in the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast case,in which he is the prime accused. The police would now be interested in taking Yasin to the different sites used for carrying out the bombing.
The police will also question him about Parvai Basha, the alleged supplier of explosives for the blasts outside the BJP office. Yasins ties with radical Kerala leader Abdul Nasser Madani,an accused in the July 2008 serial blasts in Bangalore,is also expected to be a line of investigation.
