A war of letters has erupted within the Congress in Uttarakhand, with the main players being Union Water Resources Minister Harish Rawat and Chief Minister Vijay Bahuguna.
While Rawat wrote a letter to Bahuguna criticising the state government for not allotting land for implementation of central projects in his constituency Haridwar, the CM Saturday evening sent back a stern reply, defending his government.
Bahuguna wrote his government has already either identified land or allotted it to the projects which figured in his letter. In the last paragraph of his letter,he said he expected that Rawat would make his best efforts to get sanctioned the mentioned projects in order to make his contribution to the state.
The episode has exposed the rivalry between Rawat, who lost out in the CMs race, and Bahuguna, who were believed to have made peace following the recent visit of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
