The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday announced that assets of five tainted government employees would soon be confiscated.
The seizure will take place in accordance with a provision in the Special Courts Act that empowers the designated authority to initiate action if it is prima facie satisfied that assets had been acquired illegally.
Eight courts have been set up in four main towns of Madhya Pradesh under the anti-graft legislation that came into effect in February.
The employees,whose total assets worth Rs 5.42 crore will be confiscated,are former SE of state electricity board Brijesh Rai (Rs 98 lakh); former assistant protocol officer T Tigga (Rs 68 lakh); Chitrasen Bisen (Rs 1.14 crore); Grade III employee of Indore,RTO,Raman Dhuldhoye (Rs 1.17 crore) and former SE of Bansagar Project M P Chaturvedi (Rs 1.45 crore).
The MP government has set up a committee to examine cases of tainted employees that will be forwarded to the designated authority. The confiscated properties will be used for public.
