Days after the CBI arrested Andhra Pradesh Principal Secretary B P Acharya,it filed the first chargesheet in the multi-crore alleged irregularities in the APIIC-Emaar properties deal on Wednesday.
The chargesheet has been filed against seven accused,including Acharya,and five real estate companies before a Hyderabad court. YSR Congress chief Jaganmohan Reddy has not been named.
According to the CBI,Acharya,former chairman and managing director of Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC),entered into a conspiracy with Emaar officials and unknown public servants to cheat APIIC. The agency has charged the accused and private companies with criminal conspiracy,cheating,and under the Prevention of Corruption Act and various other sections of the IPC. The alleged irregularities pertain to the sale of villas,plots,flats in an integrated project at Manikonda in Hyderabad.
The CBI has cited 286 witnesses in the chargesheet.
