Vigilance personnel conducted searches at the premises of former minister and controversial DMK leader N K K P Raja on Wednesday,a day after registering a criminal case against him for allegedly amassing wealth while in power.
Raids were conducted at his residence and offices at eight places in his native Erode,one at neighbouring Karur district and at one place in Chennai. The raids started at 6 am and went on till late evening.
He is the ninth minister from the previous Cabinet to face action over corruption charges,while several others are facing land-grab charges as well. Raja was arrested on August 4 and released on bail.
