A day after beef shops in Amroha opened after a fortnight, with the administration providing them protection against Minister Mehboob Ali’s men,his supporters staged a protest and clashed with the police on Monday.

The traders have agreed to sell beef at Rs 90 a kg,which is Rs 10 less than the price at which they had been selling earlier. Ali’s supporters, who blocked the Bijnore road for two hours, said price should not exceed Rs 70,as dictated by him. Ali denied all charges. “I am not aware of any protest,” he said.
