Absconder BJP MLA back in Nitish cabinet

Aurangabad MLA Ramadhar Singh had resigned as minister in May for being an absconder in a 1992 case.

BJP’s Aurangabad MLA Ramadhar Singh,who had resigned as minister in May for being an absconder in a 1992 case,on Friday came back to the Nitish cabinet. He is likely to get the Cooperative portfolio he held before. Singh had sought regular bail in the case.

Bihar Governor Debanand Konwar administered him oath of office and secrecy in the presence of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar,Speaker Uday Narain Choudhary and Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi.

Singh,who had been declared a proclaimed offender on December 8,1995 in a 1992 case,resigned from the cabinet in mid-May.

A case had been registered at Madanpur police station against Singh over a “communal speech” he made in Aurangabad in 1992.
