One would expect actors as seasoned as Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra to get used to the tedium of waiting on the sets while the crew readies the shoot.

However, while shooting for their latest release Anjaana Anjaani, both actors showed their effervescent side and bonded with the entire crew on location in the Unites States. While Ranbir took on the role of an assistant director with aplomb by giving claps for scenes and helping out the crew,Priyanka impressed the stylists by working on the extras and even helped to manage the crowds.

Apart from work, there was a lot of fun and frolic on the sets, especially with Ranbir and director Siddharth Anand playing pranks on all the crew members along with Priyanka Chopra.

Deepika’s stall order

While most women want their Mr. Right to have a sense of humour,Deepika Padukone rates honesty as the first requisite in her man. Listing the traits, the leggy actress says, “He should not be self-obsessed,but self-confident. The most important trait I admire is honesty. I just can’t stand dishonesty be it in men or women.” A strong statement. Wonder if she’s speaking from experience?

Kajol’s motherly task

Everyone loves her husky voice. Lately though, the actor seems to have developed a secondary voice to be strict with her daughter Nysa. “You know, once you become a mother you automatically get this voice which I refer to as a ‘mother’s voice’ which you can use to control your child. And the child, too, knows and understands this voice and promptly behaves.”

A nugget of information about Kajol’s own childhood slips out. She also recalled her mother Tanuja’s whistle. “Tanisha and I would rush to her when we heard that whistle. Even today if she blows her whistle,I automatically rush towards her!” Such is love.

Promotion over Emotion

Ranbir Kapoor is in a dilemma over whether he should promote Anjaana Anjaani or Do Dooni Chaar. While Anjaana Anjaani releases on September 24,Do Dooni Chaar releases just 15 days later on October 8. While Ranbir is emotionally attached to Do Dooni Chaar,he is professionally inclined towards Anjaana Anjaani. Do Dooni Chaar is a very special film for Ranbir as his parents Rishi and Neetu Kapoor are returning to the big screen together after 30 years.

The occasion is doubly special for Ranbir as he is very close to his mother Neetu Kapoor who is returning to the big screen after many years. In fact,Ranbir’s decision was tested recently as the makers of Do Dooni Chaar were planning to have the music launch of the movie on September 26,which Ranbir was keen on attending. However,he will be busy with the post-release activities of Anjaana Anjaani and will find it very difficult to attend the music function.

Kareena loves Sanjay

Kareena Kapoor’s love for her sister is well-chronicled. But recently,Kareena was gushing about how much she loves her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapur. “He has known me since I was a little girl,as his family and ours are family friends. I look up to him as a brother,” she chirped.

Tough task

Juhi Chawla, who has given the voiceover for Sita in Ketan Mehta’s animation film Ramayana The Epic, recalls that she had a tough time to mould her voice for the Indian goddess. Sita was known to be a dignified, devoted and subdued person. “Since I am very talkative and tend to giggle a lot,it was a big task for me to restrain this excitement in my voice. I would look at Sita’s image on screen and tell myself that I had to make an extra effort. I gave a lot of retakes for the first few scenes before I could get under the skin of the character,” laughed Juhi.

Sanjay’s Double Dhamaal

It is hard to dislike actors who are honest and self-deprecating. Sanjay Dutt’s wittiness at the first look of Knock Out’s release was almost endearing. When a curious scribe asked him if wife Maanyata kept a close watch on all the heroines he works with,Dutt replied,“That’s why I have given her twins,to keep her busy.” When another scribe asked what his latest dhamaal was,he promptly replied,“My twins are the double dhamaal.”
