2G case: Kanimozhi allowed to travel

The special CBI court hearing the 2G spectrum cases on Thursday allowed DMK MP Kanimozhi to travel to Tamil Nadu on June 3 to celebrate the birthday of her father and former chief minister M Karunanidhi.

Kanimozhi,like all 13 other accused in the case,is out on bail,but has to attend the trial of the case that has been proceeding on a daily basis. She was granted bail by the Delhi High Court on November 28 last year.

Special CBI Judge O P Saini also allowed the promoters of Essar and Loop Telecom,who have been charged in a second case arising out of the 2G spectrum allocation scam,to travel abroad for business purposes.
