’13 days of work stoppage in Maha’

There were 13 days of work stoppages (strikes and lockouts) during 2011.

There were 13 days of work stoppages (strikes and lockouts) during 2011 which affected 3,164 employees in Maharashtra,the state legislature was informed here today.

The information is contained in the economic survey,tabled in the legislature today.

The number of person-days lost due to work stoppages (including continuing work stoppages of earlier year) was 15.71 lakh,it said.

During the year 2011-12,upto February,2012,the number of closed small scale industries was 1,714 affecting 9,054 workers while 14 medium and large scale industries were closed affecting 11,360 workers in the state,the survey said.
