10 Naxals surrender in Chhattisgarh

They were given Rs. 10,000 cash as encouragement money.

As many as 10 Naxals surrendered in Bijapur district Tuesday. They said they were disappointed by the “high-headedness of senior cadres and atrocities on tribals by them,” Bijapur Deputy SP Sukhnandan Rathore said. Belonging to the national park area committee of Bastar region,they were identified as Sonu Korsa,Korsa Bodhi,Madkam Joga,Madkam Budhri,Budhram Hapka,Arjun Telam,Korsa Kosa,Mahadev Gawde,Vijay Majji,and Midium Dewa. Rathore said they left the movement due to alleged exploitation of women and villagers by ultras,killing of innocent tribals on the pretext of being informers,extortion,etc. They were given Rs. 10,000 cash as encouragement money and will be rehabilitated as per policies of the state,he added.
