MUMBAI, January 9: For the 80 kilometres that the old beauties will traverse, there are some experienced hand that will guide them through the distance. Veteran rally drivers, who have participated Himalayan Rally fame, will ride some of the vehicles in the Castrol-Vintage and Classic Car Club of India’s fiesta to be run from Vidhan Bhavan, Nariman Point, to Five Gardens, Dadar, and back on Sunday morning.

Among them are Nazir Hoosein, Chubby Lalwani and Vimal Shah. They will be challenged by some from the young generation, Nishant Dossa and Anirudh Kashwal.

A 1926 Buick owned by Navin Luthra has been specially brought from Jaipur and Nalim Khimji is coming down from Dubai to drive a Mercedes 190 SL once owned by Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and now proud possession of Nishant Dossa.Not to be left behind, the women too are gearing up and practicing diligently for the rally. The lady drivers include Chamundeshwari Bhogilal, Nilofur Eapen and Bindu Chokshi.

There will be keen competition in the bikes section as well. Hormuz Dadachangji will be driving a 1911 Triumph and Deputy Commissioner of Police, B Dangle, is likely to be astride a 1914 Lewis.
