Manoj Tiwary is enjoying his competition with Uttar Pradesh lad Suresh Raina for a berth in the Indian side. Even as Tiwary completed his 203 today, he was aware that Raina had also notched up a double ton against Orissa at Cuttack.

Tiwary, happy with his colossal effort at the Eden today, said: “It feels good to score a double hundred. I know Raina has also scored 203 against Orissa, I am enjoying this competition. This will help all of us to try something more and because of this close competition India now have a good bench strength. I think it was sadly missing earlier.”

However, he refused to accept that his runs came against a much stronger attack than Raina’s. “Orissa is a good side and beside that it’s a double century. It takes a lot of determination, hard work and temperament to bat for such long hours. Whatever the attack, you cannot take that away from him. I think we are on an even footing.”

Tiwary added: “All of us are very young and I am sure we will get our chance some day. I just want to play well and score heavily in the domestic circuit. That will always keep me at the back of the selectors’ mind and the rest is up to them.”
