While condemning the terrorist attacks on the Akshardham temple in Gandhinagar and on a Christian charitable organisation in Karachi, Russia has asked Pakistan to completely fulfil the obligations assumed to dismantle the terrorist bases in the country.

‘‘Moscow is deeply concerned and disturbed by the news of recent terrorist attacks in south Asia,’’ Russian Foreign Ministry said.

‘‘We view these terrorist acts as just part of the sinister links in the chain of crimes by international terrorism,’’ the statement stressed, saying ‘‘it’s indicative that terrorists choose as their targets places of worship and religious organisations, in order to oppose people of different faiths and to drive a wedge between different communities.

‘‘We expect from Pakistan a complete fulfilment of the obligations assumed to eradicate the terrorist infrastructure in the country,’’ the statement said.
