
CHANDIGARH, April 9: Keeping in mind the cricket World Cup ad bliztkerig, a liquor company Gilbey’s, has organised a slogan writing campaign that will reach 17 Indian cities.
The contest opened in the Piazza, Sector 17 and in Sector 15, here today, and attracted a lot of cricket enthusiasts at each place, eager to give much needed advice and to cheer the Indian cricket team.
Most of the messages were for Azharuddin, and ranged from "Azza dear, Stop dating, Start batting," to "You have the best cricket team in the world, You have to just prove it," to another gem "At this age, Start concentrating on Bijlani." There were many desirous of giving a philip (fillip) to the cricket team, saying "Azhar, lets make things better," to "Before you can win, You have to believe you are worthy." A few messages were also for written for Sachin Tendulkar and Ajit Agarkar.
The banner on which the slogans will be written, will be 10 km long and will be displayed on Lord’s cricket ground. The winner of the best slogan prize will also be flown to the world cup. The banner will also make a bid for being the longest banner ever, in the Guinness Book of Records.
The event has been sponsored by The Indian Express, Zee Network, Bombay Dyeing and Initiative Media.
