Shivanand Tiwari, a confidant-turned-critic of RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Saturday joined JD(U) in the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. Former Bihar minister and member of the state legislative council Bhola Singh, who had on Friday quit RJD, also joined the state’s ruling party along with Tiwari. Tiwari, a former minister in the erstwhile Rabri Devi government, had recently quit RJD, days after resigning as national spokesman of the party after a long-drawn diatribe against Prasad whom he had blamed for the party’s debacle in last year’s assembly elections. Welcoming the two leaders to the party fold, Kumar described it as ‘home-coming’.
