Rash’ driver out on six-month probation

CHANDIGARH, Jan 27: A sector 47 resident, charged with rash and negligent driving, has been convicted and released on six months’ probation by UT Judicial Magistrate (Ist Class) K.C. Garg. Sukhwinder Singh has also been directed to pay Rs 1,000 as costs of proceedings and furnish probation bonds of Rs 5,000.

He was booked by the Chandigarh Police after his jeep rammed into a Maruti car near the Sector 18 church. The Maruti driver, Kulwant Singh, received minor injuries, while his sister, Balwant Kaur, was seriously injured.
