Sangakkara fined 40,000 by IPL

Kings XI Punjab were today fined by the Indian Premier League for maintaining a slow over rate during their IPL match against Rajasthan Royals last night.
At the end of the match,Kings XI Punjab were assessed to be one over behind the required rate after allowances for loss of time were taken into consideration.

Since it was Kings XI Punjab’s second offense of the season,captain Kumar Sangakkara was fined USD 40,000 and each player in the team was docked USD 10,000 under IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences.
Kings XI Punjab lost to Rajasthan Royals last night and are currently languishing at the bottom of IPL III point table.
