Sachin Tendulkar is set to play his 200th Test match at the Wankhede Stadium as the Mumbai Cricket Association is in all likelihood to be awarded the second Test of the home series against West Indies to be played in November. Also Read: Backyard venue for Sachin’s 200
“The first Test will be allotted to either Bangalore or Kolkata while the second Test will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai,” a top BCCI official told The Indian Express on Tuesday. Also Read:India to play five Tests,five ODIs and a T20 in England
The Indian cricket board’s tour and fixtures committee will meet shortly to finalise the schedule. Tendulkar,who has played 198 Tests,was set to reach the landmark in South Africa,but dates for this away tour are yet to be finalised by the BCCI. With the BCCI working committee clearing the home series against West Indies,the tour of South Africa will be a truncated one. Also Read: India retain top-spot in ICC ODI rankings
India will travel to New Zealand in January and will play five Test matches in England from July. Tendulkar has already retired from ODIs but it waits to be seen whether or not he will be keen to play beyond the home series against West Indies.

MCA joint-secretary Nitin Dalal said,”Since there are just two Test matches at home this year,as per the current schedule,we are keen that Tendulkar plays his 200th Test here at Wankhede,which is his home ground. This historic moment should happen at the Wankhede.” The MCA is likely to make a formal request to the BCCI for hosting the second Test against the West Indies.
