Jyoti Randhawa went on a birdie-firing spree on his back-nine to return a five-under 67 and rise to the tied 20th spot after the third round of Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. Randhawa has a total of eight-under 208. Jeev Milkha Singh (70) and Shiv Kapur (77) were tied for the 39th and 72nd spot respectively.

Playing his back-nine first,Randhawa stroked in five birdies to make the turn at five-under. The course front-nine did not go as smoothly and after picking up a shot on the second hole,Randhawa had a bogey-birdie-bogey finish.

Jeev, also a 10th tee starter, had a roller-coaster day and after opening with a birdie on the 10th,he stumbled with a bogey on the 14th. After another bogey on the 16th,he got his act together to hit a birdie-pair on the 17th and 18th to make the turn at one-under. His front-nine comprised a couple of birdies against a lone bogey on the fourth, leaving his overall total at five-under 211.

Kapur is at the bottom of the heap with a total of three-over 219.

Honolulu: A poor front-nine marred Arjun Atwal’s card as he turned in a one-over 71 to slip 26 rungs to tied 50th after the second round of the $5.4 million Sony Open.
