Rana-Naik maintain lead on a day when others find going tough

Suresh Rana continued to lead the Maruti Suzuki Desert Storm as the second day of the Rally witnessed many up and downs in leadership positions across all categories.

While 2009 champion Rana & Naik maintained their position,the combination of Lt Col Subodh Verma & Col Rajesh Singh could not complete the race in the Xtreme Category in the second leg due to engine trouble. Even in the MotoQuad category,overnight leader Pramod Joshua dropped to third and the pole position was grabbed by Raj Singh Rathore.

The rally saw as many as 11 cars dropping out during the course of the first leg. The pairs of Rana & Naik,Subodh & Rajesh and Anwar & Shahdab were maintaining top three slots in the Xtreme category on the first day.

Earlier,Day One leader Sunny Sidhu too had to drop out after an engine failure stalled his Suzuki Grand Vitara.

On the third leg the rallyists will be crossing the Thar Desert in Jaisalmer before reaching Bhuj.

4. Aabhishek Mishra and Hanuman Singh Sisodia

5. Lt Col Shakti Bajaj and Major Bharat Bhushan.
