New Indian envoy in UAE presents credentials

India's new envoy to UAE M K Lokesh presented a copy of his credentials to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,Dr Anwar Mohamed Gargash.

India’s new envoy to UAE M K Lokesh presented a copy of his credentials to Minister of State for Foreign Affairs,Dr Anwar Mohamed Gargash.

At a meeting held at the Foreign Ministry,Gargash wished the ambassador success in his mission for enhancing friendly relations and co-operation between UAE and India.

Lokesh expressed happiness over representing India in the UAE and hailed its distinctive position on the regional and global levels.

Assistant to Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Dr Tareq Ahmed Al Haidan was also present at the meeting.

Lokesh,who hails from Mysore,was the deputy chief of mission at the Indian embassy in Brussels.

A 1977 graduate of the Indian Foreign Service,he was ambassador to Slovakia earlier.
