Jasprit Bumrah’s 5 pulls Gujarat back

Uttar Pradesh now have an overall lead of 87 with eight wickets remaining.

Jharkhand vs Gujarat (Jamshedpur)

Saurabh Tiwary got out for 91 and a lower order collapse saw Jharkhand being bowled out for 289 on the second day of their Ranji Trophy match against Gujarat. Medium pacer Jasprit Bumrah returned with a five-for. Gujarat posted a strong reply led by Parthiv Patel’s unbeaten 75 and finished the day on 168 for two.

Pandey on song with unbeaten 108

Odisha vs Karnataka (Tangi)

Manish Pandey’s 108 not out saw Karnataka take the first innings lead and finish the day on 288 for four in their Ranji Trophy match against Odisha. KL Rahul supported Pandey well with 67 and together they put on 114 runs for the third wicket. This was Pandey’s 11th first-class hundred.

Rajasthan fall short after Mishra’s seven

Rajasthan vs UP (Jaipur)

Medium pacer Amit Mishra’s seven for 59 gave Uttar Pradesh the first innings lead as Rajasthan were all out for 185. Uttar Pradesh made 46 for two in their second innings and now have an overall lead of 87 with eight wickets remaining.

Pathan strong-arms MP with big hits

Baroda vs MP (Baroda)

Twenty wickets on the first day notwithstanding,Baroda coach Sanath Kumar insisted that Moti Bagh pitch was not unplayable. And Yusuf Pathan proved that today with a dazzling 104 in 101 balls. Pathan’s strong-armed tactic (six fours and five sixes) rattled Madhya Pradesh and gave his team a very winnable lead after Baroda were all out for 244 in their second innings. Jalaj Saxena was once again the peak of the Madhya Pradesh bowlers with seven wickets but the batters failed to honour his effort with another tame display. Chasing 337 win,the visitors are staring down the barrel,scoring 58 for the loss of five wickets.

In Laxmi Ratan Shukla’s 100th Ranji Trophy game,off-spinner Saurasish Lahiri emerged as Bengal’s unlikely batting hero with his second first-class hundred as his team posted 431 all out in their first innings. Lahiri,who came yesterday as the night-watchman,made 108 in 212 balls that gave the visitors a good platform to have a go at Services. Shukla,however,was out for 28. Services have made a steady start,reaching 39 for no loss in the 11 overs they played on Day Two.
