Britain’s Nehal Bhogaita has won the title of Miss India Worldwide,making her the first deaf to win the beauty pageant.
The first deaf contestant in the pageant’s history,Nehal aspires to be a role model for the deaf and disabled,according to a media statement issued by its organiser Dharmatma Saran of IFC.
During the beauty pageant held in Kuala Lumpur last week,Nehal performed a Bollywood dance routine that highlights her own conviction of never giving up.
While she is unable to hear the music,she dances using the vibrations of the beats.
The First Runner-Up was Jasveer Kaur Sandhu of Malaysia and Second Runner-Up was Surbhi Sachdev of Oman. The other two finalists in the top five were Geetanjali Kelath of UAE and Ayushi Chhabra of Nigeria.
